At The White Room, we have a wide range of interests and we are not afraid to act on them. Our self-published book on Man Ray seeks to establish the influence of the great surrealist on four of today’s most influential artists: Neville Brody, Émigré, Brothers Quay and Jan Švankmajer. We helped demonstrate our thesis by creating 50 custom Rayographs and discussing linkages touching on politics, technical processes and the use of found objects. Our book’s design emphasized darkness, in keeping with the nocturnal aesthetic ruling our subject artists.
